The University of Tasmania is located in Churchill Avenue, Hobart TAS 7005, Australia. It is a public research university that is situated in Tasmania, and it is the fourth-oldest university in the country. The institution's residential college, Christ College, was established in 1846 and it is one of the country's oldest tertiary institutions. The story began in a sandstone building overlooking Hobart 130 years ago. The goal of the university has remained the same since those early days when three lecturers taught eleven students. The Australian Maritime College, the nation's Centre for maritime education, research, and Training, is part of the university.
