Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.

Entry into any of the majors requires a minimum of a Bachelors degree in a related discipline.

The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64 with a writing score of 50; or C1A/C2P: 176-184 with a writing score of 169.

• Graduates of the Biomedical Engineering major are prepared for innovative careers in medical device and biotechnology companies, hospitals, government policy and regulatory agencies, bionanomaterial production, clinical engineering, and research and development teams where the ability to creatively combine biology with technology leads to scientific discovery.
• Graduates of Environmental Consultancy and Conservation major are highly-skilled in ecology and site assessment methods, including land contamination, vegetation surveys, water analysis, as well as animal surveys and handling techniques for native fauna. Graduates are well-positioned for evolving careers within consultancy firms, government agencies (e.g. local councils, EPA, land and water services), the National Parks and Wildlife Service, research institutes, tourism centres and natural resource management.
• Graduates of the Mathematical and Statistical Modelling major can apply their logistic, statistical and modelling skills across a diverse range of global organisations and industries, including banking and finance sectors, health, information technology, commercialisation, and market research.
• Graduates of Medical Laboratory Science major are well-positioned for careers in hospital laboratories, diagnostic medical laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, medical technicians, biomedical and biotechnology development industries, and public and community education.
• Graduates of Advanced Studies major have a well-rounded set of professional skills tailored towards the career directions of their choice, including careers in laboratory and scientific practice, digital skills and data analytics, research and development pathways, or wider careers in science and technology.
