Program Overview

The UTS Master of Business Administration (MBA) is designed to extend strategic thinking, knowledge and capabilities for early career professionals seeking a career change or advancing into managerial roles. The course provides flexibility for students to build a broad foundation of general business skills before expanding their skill sets with their preferred specialisation(s). All MBA subjects are approved by an industry board that insists on 'relevance to workplace' as a pre-eminent subject design principle.

The MBA provides knowledge and skills that are essential for superior management performance. The flexible, practice-based course features a core of six subjects that introduces the student to key managerial and business concepts, with the ten remaining subjects allowing a choice of major, sub-majors and or electives from throughout the University.

Entry Requirement
Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.

Minimum Academic Requirement: At least grade point average (GPA) of 5.25 out of 7 with less than 10 per cent fail grades.

All applicants who do not meet the minimum academic requirement may still be considered on the basis of:
- a Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) overall minimum score of 550, or
- a minimum of at least four years' full time, or equivalent, relevant work experience.
The relevant work experience must be demonstrated through a C.V. and a Statement of Service, confirming the dates of employment and the position held within the organisation.

The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64 with a writing score of 50; or C1A/C2P: 176-184 with a writing score of 169.
