A successful applicant for admission to the Master of Science in Medicine (Pain Management) will hold:

• completion of the requirements of the embedded graduate certificate or graduate diploma, or equivalent qualification; or
• a bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline with first or second class honours from the University of Sydney or an equivalent qualification; or
• a bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline and completed a minimum of two years work equivalent to a first or second class honours bachelor's degree or pass a preliminary examination(s) as prescribed by the school.
   

In exceptional circumstances, the faculty may admit applicants without these qualifications who, in the opinion of the school, have qualifications and evidence of experience and achievement sufficient to successfully undertake the award. Please be advised that a statement of intent is a mandatory document for this program.

Tuition Fee for International Students (Year 1): $54,000 (indicative only)
 

For international students, the tuition fee is for Year 1 of full-time study of 48 credit points (1.0 EFTSL). However, for courses that require completion of less than 48 credit points (Sydney Professional Certificates, Graduate Certificates and some Graduate Diplomas which are less than 48 credit points), the fees indicated are based on the total credit points required for completion of that course as listed in the 'Course details' section.

The tuition fee that you will pay depends on the calendar year in which you undertake your study in the course, and your study load.
This indicative tuition fee is subject to annual increase each year of your study, effective at the start of each calendar year.

The Master of Science in Medicine (Pain Management) is designed to improve the knowledge and skills of health care professionals and thus improve the services offered to patients in pain. This course is not a pathway to specialist qualification. However, it is acknowledged that the course provides an excellent preparation for the Fellowship exam of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.
