Additional Rules

1. Continuous Enrolment:
 

• Students must obtain prior approval to interrupt their studies. Resumption of studies may be subject to demonstrating competencies required for undertaking further study in the program. A student who fails to demonstrate competence may be required to undertake remediation which may include repeating courses and/or other requirements.

2. Study Load:
 

• Students must obtain prior approval to change their study load.

3. Progression through program:
 

• A student may only enrol in the subsequent year of the program if they have gained credit for all courses for the preceding year.

4. Work integrated learning requirements:
 

• Before commencement of any work integrated learning for the program, students must meet all requirements specified for the activities. It is the student's responsibility to understand and comply with the requirements as they relate to placement obligations as outlined in PPL 3.10.04 Work Integrated Learning and Work Experience.

To be eligible for entry, you'll need:
 

• To be considered for enrolment, an applicant must hold a bachelor degree; study in fields such as health, humanities, education, social, physical or biological sciences is recommended.If the bachelor degree was completed more than 10 years prior to program commencement, an applicant must have subsequently completed within 10 years prior to commencement either a postgraduate qualification, or a minimum of 8 units / 4 courses of university level study.Entry is competitive based on GPA.The minimum GPA to be considered for admission into this program is 4.0. The GPA cut-off for those offered a place in 2021 was 5.75.

English language requirements:
 

• IELTS overall 7; reading 7; writing 7; speaking 7; listening 7. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ

• TOEFL IBT - Overall 100, listening 25, reading 25, writing 27, speaking 23.

• TOEFL PB - Overall 600, listening 59, reading 59, writing 64/6.

• Pearsons - Overall 72, sub bands minimum 72.

• CES - Overall 185, All sub bands minimum 185.

• BE and OET are not accepted.

Student visas:
 

• International students who are accepted into full-time study in the Master of Audiology Studies are eligible to apply for an Australian student visa (subclass 500).

• There are a number of requirements you must satisfy before a visa is granted, including the genuine temporary entrant (GTE) requirement.

Indicative annual fee

Approximate yearly cost of full-time tuition (16 units). Your fees will vary according to your selected courses and study load. Fees are reviewed each year and may increase.
 

• AUD $49,376

Additional costs:
 

• Annual CPR re-certification (approximately $70 per year)

• Students are expected to fund travel and living expenses associated with placements, some of which may be outside the Brisbane metropolitan area.

• First Aid Certificate (including CPR) (approximately $130 renewed every 3 years)

• A clinical uniform shirt is required and may be purchased through the School.

• Costs for vaccinations and serology are the responsibility of the student and will vary based on individual and program requirements.
