Notes for Masters of Education

If you combine two Masters of Education specialisations, you only need to complete one research methodology and research project in your two Masters specialisations. You can complete any two additional MEd elective courses for your other specialisation.

If you combine a Masters of Education (TESOL) specialisation with a Master of Applied Linguistics you cannot take any LING electives in your MEd.

Notes for Masters in International Relations/Development Studies/ Public Policy and Governance

If you combine two Social Sciences specialisations (i.e. International Relations A and/or Development Studies A and/or Public Policy and Governance A), you only need to complete one Research Core Course for your two Masters specialisations. You can complete additional Elective Courses to meet the minimum UOC requirement.

A recognised Bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) and requirements specific to the individual Master (one year, 48 UOC) programs chosen. Students from a non-211 university in China are now required to have a record of academic achievement equivalent to a UNSW distinction average (75%).

English language requirements

• IELTS 7.0 overall (min 6.0 in each subtest)

• TOEFL iBT 94 overall (min. 25 in writing, 23 in reading, listening and speaking)

Upon graduation, you’ll receive two separate degrees based on your study choices, for example, a Master of Journalism and Communication plus a Master of International Relations. Graduates complete a double degree with a variety of unique and specialised course combinations based on their previous experience, career ambitions and areas of interest.
