Full program structure
This Master’s degree involves twelve courses of full-time or part-time study. Full-time study is considered two to three courses per term, however it’s normal for postgraduate students to plan their studies around other life commitments. Each UNSW university year has three terms and an optional summer study period. Depending on how you plan your study load, you can fit two or three courses into a term and one course in a summer term. 

Below is an example of what you might study if you completed three courses per term.  

First year

  • 1 Gateway course to support your specialisation


Term 2
 

  • 2 Gateway courses to support your specialisation 

  • 1 Course in your chosen specialisation

Second Year 

Term 1
 

  • 1 Course in your chosen specialisation

  • 1 Business School elective course

  • 1 Capstone course in your specialisation

  • This degree’s admission requirements are based on you having a recognised undergraduate degree (or equivalent qualification) with a credit average, as determined by the UNSW Business School.  You may be considered eligible if your undergraduate degree WAM is between 60-64% and your GMAT score is 600 or above. 
  • If you don't meet the entry requirements, you may be eligible to study the Graduate Certificate in Commerce as a pathway into the Master of Commerce (MCom). Upon successful completion, your Graduate Certificate in Commerce courses may be credited towards your MCom. 
  • Note: Applicants from non-211 universities in China wishing to study Postgraduate Coursework in the UNSW Business School must achieve a minimum overall average of 88 in their current university’s grading system. This is equivalent to an 85% Australian scaled average using the calculator.
