Program Overview

The Master of Finance is quantitatively oriented and provides both depth and breadth in finance, and will enhance your analytical and problem-solving abilities and develop your understanding of the principles of finance.
 

As a student of this degree, you will explore finance, financial modelling, econometrics, trading, research and the analysis of financial markets.
 

Your subjects use market data in real-time trading simulations and workshops for multi-asset portfolio and risk analysis, hedging, money market and foreign exchange instruments trading of all of which are conducted at real-time market rates.

Year One of Program

Semester One: Complete the following Four (4) Courses:

  • Financial Statement Analysis
  • Managerial Finance
  • Quantitative Financial Methods and Modelling
  • Global Financial Markets and Institutions


Year Two of program

Semester One: Complete the following Three (3) Courses:

  • Alternative Securities
  • Options, Futures and Risk Management
  • Portfolio Management

Academic requirements
 

2 year duration
 

You must have successfully completed an Australian Bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) or higher level qualification in any discipline.
 

1.5 year duration
 

You must have successfully completed:

  • An Australian Bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) or higher level qualification in Business (or a related discipline) from a recognised tertiary institution*.
     

Prerequisites

  • There are no prerequisite subjects required for entry into this qualification.
     

Selection tasks

  • A selection task is not required for entry into this qualification.

The annual tuition fee is AU$43,200.

Graduates may work in the financial sector or in the treasury/finance functions of large or small corporations. Many move into high-demand positions like financial investment advisors and managers, financial brokers and fund managers.
