Diploma in Business (Commerce)

at Monash University

Part 1
Part 1 consists of two trimesters over eight months. Study four subjects each trimester that are based on your Diploma of Business stream. These subjects will give you a background in your stream and will prepare you for part 2.

Part 2
 

• Part 2 consists of two trimesters over eight months.
• You will study the same curriculum and complete the same assessments as first year undergraduate students. Classes will help you develop your critical thinking skills and university research techniques. These skills will prepare you for success at Monash University.

Qualifications
To be accepted into a Monash College Diploma, you must meet the academic and English language requirements. You will also need to check the age, subject and course prerequisites before you apply.

Prerequisite subjects
You must meet the additional course prerequisite subjects which are equivalent to Australian Year 11 (part 1) or Australian Year 12 (part 2).
 

If you only have Mathematics (Australian Year 12 equivalent) and you wish to study a Faculty of Business and Economics undergraduate degree that requires higher-level Mathematics (Australian Year 12 equivalent), you must complete the Monash College unit MCD2130 Functions and Their Applications.

English entry requirements
 

• IELTS: 5.5 overall (no band lower than 5.0)    
• TOEFL Internet-based test: score of 52 overall with minimum scores: Writing: 15, Listening: 5, Reading: 5 and Speaking: 14
