Edith Cowan College (ECC), formerly known as Perth Institute of Business and Technology, is an educational institution located in Perth, Western Australia. It is accredited by the Government under the Higher Education Act 2004 to provide various higher education courses. The college has been in partnership with Edith Cowan University (ECU) since 1994, and more than 9,000 students have successfully transitioned into ECU through ECC. Edith Cowan College’s acceptance rate stands at 60% to 70%.

 

As the founding college of the Navitas Group, the college is part of the largest group of Higher Education colleges in Australia. Navitas has colleges in major cities across Australia and sister colleges in London, Africa, and Canada. Since 1994, ECC and Edith Cowan University have collaborated to offer pathway programmes for university education in Australia. ECC is situated on ECU's Mount Lawley and Joondalup campuses, with the Joondalup campus located 25 km from Perth.

 

The college offers diploma pathway programmes in various fields such as commerce, hotel management, communications and creative industries, computer/IT science, engineering studies, and health studies, including nursing. These programmes enable students to progress into the second year of their respective degree courses at Edith Cowan University. With a three-semester system, most courses can be completed in eight months.
