Electives

You must choose 40cp points of electives from the list of available postgraduate subject from across the University. You may choose to undertake the Building Information Modelling introductory subjects (40CP On-campus) or apply for an Internship as elective options.

International applicants (undergraduate degree awarded outside of Australia)

A combination of qualifications deemed to be equivalent to a standard Australian bachelor degree in Architecture with a credit average (GPA 2.0/4.0 or 5.0/7.0) AND a high-quality portfolio of design work. English language IELTS 7.0 (no sub score less than 6.5) or equivalent Bond University approved language test.

Portfolio requirements

The portfolio should be a single A4 pdf file, no larger than 10MB (no page limit provided the file size is met), containing graphic and three dimensional architecture, design, and/or other creative work, including evidence of relevant professional experience (if applicable). Images should be accompanied with text to explain what is shown and when it was made, and clarify if any of the work is not your own (for example, produced by you as a member of a group). A cover page should be included. Portfolios will be evaluated on the basis of work which shows high-quality architectural and design ability, demonstration of conceptual depth, demonstration of technical skill and communication abilities, and the overall graphic layout and clarity of the portfolio document.

The below fees are based on the total estimated program fee divided by the number of standard full-time semesters required to complete the program. Fees may vary based on which subjects are selected and the number of subjects enrolled in for each semester.

As a consequence of increasing levels of complexity in modern construction, the rationale for integrated design management is borne, demanding a much greater focus on effective teamwork and information handling. No single consultant can design a complex building project without a diverse range of disciplines contributing to the solution, but the management of this process up until recent times has been poorly defined. Integrated design management is an opportunity for architects to take a leadership role in the design process through a better understanding of project management within the context of architectural ingenuity and creativity.

The combined program will be automatically accredited by the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) and Australian Institute of Project Management. Graduates of this combined degree are also internationally recognised by the Project Management Institute (PMI). The Master of Architecture is recognised and accredited by the Board of Architects of Queensland.
