Diploma of Legal Studies

at Bond University

The Diploma of Legal Studies is a two semester (full-time) program of 8 compulsory subjects and 1 compulsory skills building subject. Students must complete the following (8) subjects for the Diploma of Legal Studies:
 

• BCDP02-101 Critical Thinking and Communication

• BCDP02-102 Collaboration, Teams and Leadership

• BCDP02-103 Responsibility, Integrity and Civic Discourse

• BCDP02-077 Personal Development Portfolio

• BCDP02-024 Business Law

• BCDP02-015 Contemporary Issues in Law and Society

• BCDP02-105 Legal Foundations A 

• BCDP02-106 Legal Foundations B
   

*BCAS01-020 Academic Skills is a compulsory 0 credit point subject that provides you with core academic skills including referencing, academic writing and time management. It must be completed in your first semester (Weeks 2 to 6)

Alternative entry pathways
 

For those applicants who do not currently have the required academic qualifications, there are a number of alternative entry pathways:
 

• Bond University Tertiary Preparation programs

• Bond University Diploma programs

• Other institutional Tertiary Preparation Programs

• Vocational education and training qualifications (Certificate IV and above)

• Prior higher education experience (at this university or another)

• Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) result 144

• Professional or para-professional qualifications/experience

• Employment experience (ANZCO Skill level 3 for 1 year full-time equivalent) verified by a statement of service from the employer stating the position title and length of service and a very brief statement on the tasks undertaken. 

The below fees are based on the total estimated program fee divided by the number of standard full-time semesters required to complete the program. Fees may vary based on which subjects are selected and the number of subjects enrolled in for each semester.
 

Semester program fee:
 

• Students commencing study : $16,240* per semester average
   

Total program fee:
 

• Students commencing study : $32,480

Successful completion of the Diploma of Legal Studies will provide students with a pathway to most Bond University undergraduate degrees, including the Bachelor of Laws, or a start to their career where a knowledge of fundamental legal principles and basic legal skills will be of use, e.g. business administration, legal administration, federal, state or local government administration.
