Scholarship Overview

The Waterloo Merit Scholarship is awarded by the University of Waterloo to incoming meritorious students entering select Bachelor degree programmes. This scholarship is applicable for the following courses at the University of Waterloo in Canada

  • Bachelor of Accounting and Financial Management
  • Bachelors in Legal Studies
  • Bachelor of Computing and Financial Management
  • MPharm (Hons)
  • Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS)
  • Bachelors of Arts in Economics
  • Bachelor in Business Administration and Mathematics (Double degree)
  • Bachelor of Business Administration / Bachelor of Computer Science
  • Bachelor of Science in Honours Science and Aviation

Shortlisting Process

The selection of scholars for the Waterloo Merit Scholarship involves a multi-stage process. The scholars will be selected after a thorough assessment of all the applicants. 

Terms and Conditions

The continuation of the scholarship depends on the good academic performance of the scholars in the examinations conducted by their respective universities.

Renewal cases of stipend holders who are not promoted to the next year will not be considered for further renewal.

 

Eligibility

  • Students early May admission average, including required courses, must be 85 - 89.9% for the program
  • Students must be enrolled at Waterloo in full-time degree studies for the entire September to December term
  • A student must accept Offer of Admission by the date specified on the offer
  • TOEFL- Score of 90 is required with a minimum of 25 in writing and speaking
  • IELTS- Score of 6.5 is required with 6.5 in writing, 6.5 speaking, 6.0 reading and 6.0 listening
  • PTE- Score of 63 is required with a minimum of 65 in writing and speaking sections
