Scholarship Overview

The University of Sydney invites applications for University of Sydney Flora Jean Ferriss Scholarship 2021 from students studying string instruments. This scholarship aims to support the study of students studying string instruments at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Selected students will get scholarship benefits as determined by the dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Selection Criteria

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, and/or portfolio and/or performance.

Terms and Conditions

  • All scholarship offers are conditional upon evidence that the student meets the selection criteria.
  • The recipient must enrol in the year of scholarship offer.
  • This scholarship cannot be deferred.
  • The scholarship is tenable for one year only.
  • The annual payment will be made in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester.
  • Deferral of the scholarship is not permitted without the prior permission of the relevant Associate Dean and it is not transferable to another honours program, faculty/University school or University.
  • The scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.
  • To continue receipt of the scholarship, the recipient must maintain a minimum WAM of 75 each semester.
  •  Applicants may be required to attend an interview.

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • Be enrolled or have an unconditional offer to study a full-time coursework or research degree at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music
  • Be studying string
