Scholarship Overview

The University of Queensland invites applications for the University of Queensland, Venerable Archdeacon Edward Leo Hayes Adult Undergraduate Scholarship 2021 from undergraduate students. The scholarship aims to assist a mature age student to pursue an undergraduate program at the University. An annual fund of AUD 3,000 will be awarded to the scholarship winner.

Benefits

The Selected candidate will receive a grant of AUD 3,000 per year for a minimum duration of the program.

Documents

  • Evidence of residence/employment in the Darling Downs area for at least 12 months;
  • Most recent Centrelink Allowance Statement (Youth Allowance, ABSTUDY, etc) and/or Australian Taxation Office (ATO) Assessment Notice, for the previous financial year, and Evidence of income from other sources.
  • A copy of the secondary school results and other academic transcript/studies report.

Selection Criteria

Candidates will be selected based on the financial position, academic achievement in secondary school and other evidence as may be deemed relevant.

Terms and Conditions

  • The scholarship is awarded as tenure becomes vacant.
  • The scholarship is tenable for the normal minimum duration of the recipient's program, subject to satisfactory academic progress and continued full-time enrolment.
  • The scholarship may be terminated if the President of the Academic Board feels that the recipient is not diligently pursuing the program.
  • Preference will be given to students who lived or worked in the area of the Darling Downs for a period of 12 months.

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • Not be less than 25 years of age on the date the application is lodged
  • Intend to enroll at the university in the first semester of the year of the award
