Eligibility

  • The Sanders Scholarship In Clinical Ophthalmology is open students from Scotland.
  • Applicants should have applied and accepted for admission into the online distance learning MSc in Primary Care Ophthalmology and the ChM in Clinical Ophthalmology at the University of Edinburgh.
  • The candidates applying must be medical or surgical trainees and be registered with the General Medical Council.
  • Should be working in a recognized training programme in the Scottish NHS.
  • Other health professionals involved in delivering eye care except for optometrists in the Scottish NHS may also be considered on an individual basis.

Documents required:

  • An outline of the candidate's preferred research project.
  • Other documents supporting the application of the candidate can be submitted.
  • Any details of any potential conflicts of interest arising from work or personal relationships with staff of NHS Education for Scotland, the University of Edinburgh or the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh can be provided.

How To Apply

  1. Complete an online EUCLID application for the MSc in Primary Care Ophthalmology or the ChM (Master of Surgery) in Clinical Ophthalmology – instructions on full application process can be found on the University’s degree finder pages  for the MSc PCO and the ChM CO.  Wait for decision on application via EUCLID.
  2. Complete The Sanders Scholarship in Ophthalmology Application Form by 1st June 2020.

If your application for scholarship is successful, you must meet all of the University’s eligibility criteria for an unconditional offer of a place on the MSc in Primary Care Ophthalmology or the ChM in Clinical Ophthalmology, which must also be accepted.
