Scholarship Overview

Shardashish Interschool Fellowship is a flagship scholarship programme of Columbia University. The intention of the Shardashish fellowship at Columbia University is to make available the best of global educational opportunities to bright and committed students who are economically challenged. Since this is a need-based scholarship programme, students need to provide proof of limited finances. The Shardashish Interschool Fellowship (Columbia University) is applicable only to the following courses in Columbia University in USA - 

 

  • M.S. Materials Science and Engineering
  • M.S. Chemical Engineering
  • M.S. Mechanical Engineering
  • M.S. Electrical Engineering
  • M.S. Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics
  • M.S. Biomedical Engineering

 

This scholarship is applicable to all MS programs in an engineering discipline, MA in Biotechnology, MA in Mathematics of Finance, MA in statistics, MA in Economics, Evolution and Conservation Biology, MPA in environmental science and policy.

Shortlisting Process

The selection of scholars for the Shardashish Interschool Fellowship (Columbia University) involves a multi-stage process. The scholars will be selected after a thorough assessment of all the applicants. Preference will be given to following candidates:

  • Established commitment to India and its future.
  • Demonstrated financial need.
  • Preference to residents of India.
  • Must have applied and been admitted to one of the specific Columbia University schools.

Terms and Conditions

The continuation of the scholarship depends on the good academic performance of the scholars in the examinations conducted by their respective universities.

Renewal cases of stipend holders who are not promoted to the next year will not be considered for further renewal.

 

Eligibility

Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in a related field received from an institution of acceptable standing.

Application Documents

Three recommendation letters.

  • Official transcript copies from every post-secondary institution attended.
  • Provide a brief statement of interest (maximum of 1000 words) that explains how your past, present, and future educational and professional experience contribute to the overall advancement of India and its future.
  • Complete the financial need assessment form (separate form/document).
