Value of School of Cultures, Languages and Linguistics Prize at University of Auckland 2020:

  • One School of Cultures, Languages and Linguistics Prize to the value of NZD 1,000 will be awarded annually.

The Prize will be awarded by the University of Auckland the recommendation of the Deputy Head (Academic) of the School of Cultures, Languages, and Linguistics (or nominee) in consultation with the Discipline Convenors of French, German and Russian, Italian, Spanish, and Translation Studies. The University of Auckland Council will not be bound to award the Prize in any year if there is no candidate of sufficient merit.

Eligibility

  • The Prize will be awarded to the student at the University of Auckland who has achieved the best GPA in a major in at least one of the European languages taught within the School of Cultures, Languages, and Linguistics, and who has gone on to enroll in a Bachelor of Arts (Honours), Postgraduate Diploma in Arts or Master of Arts in at least one such language, or in a Postgraduate Diploma or Master of Arts in Translation Studies in the following year.
