Scholarship Overview

The OGS Scholarships for International Students - MBA is awarded by Western University in Canada. Since 1975, the Ontario government, in partnership with Ontario's publicly assisted universities, has encouraged excellence in graduate studies at the master's and doctoral levels through the awarding of Ontario Graduate Scholarships (OGS). This is a merit-based scholarship programme that is available to students in all disciplines of graduate study. As the name suggests, this scholarship is eligible only to students who are pursuing MBA at Western University. 

Shortlisting Process

The selection of scholars for the OGS Scholarships for International Students - MBA involves a multi-stage process. The scholars will be selected after a thorough assessment of all the applicants. 

Terms and Conditions

The continuation of the scholarship depends on the good academic performance of the scholars in the examinations conducted by their respective universities.Renewal cases of stipend holders who are not promoted to the next year will not be considered for further renewal.

 

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be a current graduate student, or have submitted an application for admission to a Western graduate programme.
  • Applicants seeking Master's support for a 3-term or 4-term Master’s programme will not have completed any time in the programme as of January 1
  • Applicants must have achieved a minimum of 80% in either their graduate programme admission average and/or their cumulative Western graduate average
  • Also, an OGS applicant:
  • Must not have exceeded the lifetime maximum of two (2) OGS/QEII-GSST awards held at the master's level, nor exceeded the lifetime maximum of four (4) OGS/QEII-GSST awards held at the doctoral level
  • Must not have exceeded the lifetime maximum of six (6) years of government-funded student award support from the following programmes/agencies:
    • Ontario Graduate Scholarships (OGS)
    • Ontario Trillium Scholarships (OTS)
    • Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (QEII-GSST)
    • Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)
    • Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC)
    • Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC)

  • Unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions 
  • LOR: Applicant has to identify two professors who will each complete and upload an academic recommendation in support of his/her OGS application
  • Academic History - a summary of the applicant's previous academic history, accomplishments, and awards
  • Research proposal (If required)
