The main purpose of the Prize is to recognize and reward the students who achieve the highest marks in undergraduate History courses at the University of Auckland and display a passion for History.

Value of Jacob Marx Memorial Prize in History 2020:

  • NZD 500 will be awarded annually.

Eligibility

  • A student who achieves the highest grade point average (GPA) in their best two courses in History at Stage I level and displays a passion for History. As a minimum standard, the student should achieve a GPA of at least 7.00 (equivalent to an A-).
  • A student who achieves the highest GPA in their best two courses in History at Stage II level and displays a passion for History. As a minimum standard, the student should achieve a GPA of at least 7.00 (equivalent to an A-).
  • A student who achieves the highest GPA in their best two courses in History at Stage III level and displays a passion for History. As a minimum standard, the student should achieve a GPA of at least 7.00 (equivalent to an A-).
