IISER Kolkata Science and Engineering Research Board Junior Research Fellowship

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata invites applications for IISER Kolkata Science and Engineering Research Board Junior Research Fellowship 2020 from MSc/MPhil/MTech degree holders. The fellowship is meant for the project entitled, “Life histories and growth-defence tradeoffs in grass species of Manas Terai Ecosystem, lower Assam". The selected fellows will receive a consolidated fellowship of INR 31,000 per month plus applicable HRA per SERB-DST Rules.

Selection will be based on the applicant's performance in the interview.

• Only candidates who meet the eligibility requirements will be invited to appear for an online interview.
• Candidates with experience in field botanical research in tropical grasslands or forests, ecological knowledge on plant life histories, competition and succession, would be preferred.

To be eligible, an applicant must:

• Hold an MSc/M.Phil./M.Tech in Biological Sciences/Ecology/Botany/Environmental Science/Geography/Forestry/ or closely allied subjects, with at least 55% marks
• Have qualified at least one national level exam such as NET-LS, GATE, JGEEBILS, or equivalent exams.
