- The Harvey Fellowship is a merit based scholarship programme targeted at Christian students. This scholarship program offers financial aid to Christian students who are pursuing graduate studies at premier institutions in areas believed to be discriminated by Christians and that use a special vision to impact society by their vocations. Scholars are granted the first stipend of $16,000 which might be renewed for as many as two years. The Mustard Seed Foundation is the organizer of this scholarship.
Shortlisting Process
The selection of scholars for the Harvey Fellowship involves a multi-stage process. Criteria for selecting individuals for the Harvey Fellowship includes the applicant’s:
- Description of his/her Christian faith, and evidence of its strength and maturity.
- Demonstrated ongoing commitment and accountability to the local church.
- Articulation of the strategic nature of his/her vocational arena as a mission field and as a position from which to influence society.
- Argument for the lack of a distinctive Christian voice in that field.
- Demonstrated expertise within the discipline/field.
- Demonstrated passion and ability to lead others.
- Potential to impact people and systemic structures within the field through his/her vocational vision and commitment.
- Ability to be successful in the chosen field of study, profession and cultural context.
- Outstanding academic history.
Terms and Conditions
The continuation of the scholarship depends on the good academic performance of the scholars in the examinations conducted by their respective universities.
Renewal cases of stipend holders who are not promoted to the next year will not be considered for further renewal.
The application process includes completing and merging PDF files as well as facilitating the receipt of recommendation letters. The entire application must be completed by the November 1 deadline.
