Gordon Preston Pure Mathematics Honours Scholarship 2020 is for Monash mathematics undergraduates who want to further their passion for pure mathematics through research study. The scholarship rewards high-achieving mathematics students at Monash University. The award was created in memory of the late Gordon Preston, one of the founding professors of the School of Mathematical Sciences at Monash

Value of the Gordon Preston Pure Mathematics Honours Scholarship 2020:

  • AUD 5000 for one year only (48 credit points of study).

To retain this scholarship, an applicant must maintain full-time enrollment. No application is required for Gordon Preston Pure Mathematics Honours Scholarship 2020. All students who apply for the relevant course will be automatically assessed.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be an Australian citizen, a New Zealand citizen, an Australian permanent resident, an Australian humanitarian visa holder, or an international student.
  • Commencing or continuing an honors degree of Bachelor of Science, or the 48-credit point honors year in the Bachelor of Science Advanced with Honours, in pure mathematics, in the School of Mathematical Sciences. 
  • Have achieved a Weighted Average Mark of 90 or above in 24 credit points of relevant mathematics units at Level Three.
