The Mathematical Sciences Institute may offer an award known as the Johnstone Family Scholarship with the aim of supporting undergraduate students pursuing studies in mathematics or statistics at the Australian National University.

  • The successful applicants of Australian National University - Johnstone Family Scholarships in Australia, 2021 will receive AU $5,000 per year.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be a domestic or international student.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree in mathematics and/or statistics (including the Bachelor of Mathematical Science, the Bachelor of Statistics, or a Bachelor of Science with a significant mathematical and/or statistical component, as determined by the Selection Committee).
  • Applicants must have completed a minimum of 48 units and a maximum of 96 units of their degree course.
  • Applicants must can demonstrate a history of excellent academic performance in their undergraduate degree program.

Selection Criteria:

  • The selection committee will consider:
    • Academic merit.
    • ATAR.
    • Participation in mathematics competitions, awards.
    • Financial need, disability, indigenous, regional and rural.
