Scholarship Overview

The Asian Development Bank – Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP)- University of Melbourne, MBA programme was established in April 1988 with financing from the Government of Japan. The primary aim of this scholarship is to provide students with an opportunity to undertake postgraduate studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions in the Asia-Pacific region. Being a Master’s scholarship programme, it is applicable only in select  courses in The University of Melbourne in Australia like - 

 

  • Full-time MBA
  • Master of International Business
  • Master of Economics
  • Master of Engineering
  • Master of Public Health
  • Master of Agribusiness
  • Master of Agricultural Science
  • Master of Forest Ecosystem Science

Shortlisting Process

The selection of scholars for the Asian Development Bank – Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP)- University of Melbourne, MBA involves a multi-stage process. The scholars will be selected after a thorough assessment of all the applicants. 

Terms and Conditions

The continuation of the scholarship depends on the good academic performance of the scholars in the examinations conducted by their respective universities.

Renewal cases of stipend holders who are not promoted to the next year will not be considered for further renewal.

 

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be under 35 years old at the time of application. In exceptional cases, for programmes which are appropriate for senior officials and managers, the age limit is 45 years.
  • Applicants living or working in a country other than his/her home country are not eligible to apply.
  • Applicants who are already enrolled in graduate degree programmes or who have already completed graduate degree programmes are not eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must have a bachelor degree in any discipline.
  • TOEFL: 102 with a written score minimum of 24 and no individual score lower than 21.
  • IELTS: 7.0 with no band less than 6.5.
  • Applicants must have received an unconditional offer of place for an eligible course by 31 October for commencement in the following year.
