Soka University of America (SUA) is a private liberal arts college located in Aliso Viejo, California. It was initially formed in 1987, but Daisaku Ikeda, the man behind the Soka Gakkai International Buddhist movement, moved it to its current location in 2001. Despite being connected to Soka Gakkai, it upholds a secular curriculum that places a focus on nonviolence, human rights, and the harmonious coexistence of environment and people.
