Program Overview

Globalisation means the world is more connected than ever. Increased trade and cultural exchange give organisations opportunities to expand internationally and meet the growing demand for goods and services that span continents.

However, progress comes at a price. The people and places affected by our global marketplace face overwhelming challenges in employment and environment, regulation and responsibility, politics and profiteering.

The business of changing the world is ours.

Our MSc in International Management addresses these global issues. We’ll help you ask fundamental questions about the ethics of business, so that you can become a responsible international manager capable of contributing sustainable and ethically informed solutions to society’s grand challenges.

Course Content

This course is taught from September to June and you will study a range of both compulsory core modules and a range of options. Following on from the taught stage you will undertake a project with support from a supervisor.

In the autumn semester you will study five core modules.

In the spring semester you will study the core Academic Skills and Research Methods module which carries on from the previous semester as well as taking three optional modules from the optional module list.

Upon successful completion of the taught stage you will undertake the International Management Project.

A typical project involves writing a critical review of the existing literature covering a topic in international management, identifying a way of engaging with that literature through individual critical research and reflection via primary and/or secondary sources and developing a set of conclusions relating to further theoretical, conceptual and empirical research.

You are free to decide whether to focus more on academic, policy-making or managerial issues subject to the approval of your supervisor and the programme director.
