Cardiff Metropolitan University Ranking

The Guardian University Guide, The Independent's Complete University Guide and The Times Good University Guide all placed the university as the top "new" university in Wales as of 2016. The university took up the title of the Times Higher Education University of the Year in 2021. In the Research Excellence Frame (REF) 2021, nearly 88% of the University's research outputs in the field of the sport were deemed to be either internationally excellent or world-leading, while 83% of Cardiff Met's art and design impacts were deemed to be world-leading, placing the university 5th in the UK. Cardiff Met Uni has received independent praise for its academic standards and has been ranked on many popular ranking platforms. Cardiff Met Uni was named the top UK and Ireland University of the Year 2021 by the Times Higher Education in November 2021. The university was named the Times and the Sunday Times Welsh University of the Year in September 2020. It was also recognised by the Wales Governance Center in 2020 as being the Welsh institution with the best financial health.
