The MSc/MA in Interactive media is a 12-month intensive course that is designed specifically for graduates who are interested in pursuing studies that combine technological competence with design/artistic endeavour. The convergence of computer and new media technologies offers unique opportunities for designers/artists to exploit their potential in new application areas, by the use of different design methodologies and across a wide range of activities, such as recording, multimedia, software/hardware, broadcasting and education.

A primary degree (Level 8 - National Qualifications Authority of Ireland) in any subject area, with first or second class honours. A portfolio of the applicant's own work that demonstrates the applicant's creative ability. This can be artwork, websites, software, writing, etc. Applicants may be called for an interview. The interview normally takes 20-30 minutes and includes a review of the applicants portfolio.

Graduates from the Master in Interactive media will be able to direct and manage interactive media development projects combining technological competence with Human-centered design and artistic/creative endeavour. Graduates from the master's in Interactive Media programme have gone on to employment in a wide range of areas from audio/video recording/editing to web development, from broadcasting to social media, from product and service design asking for more interactivity to mobile computing. Past students have become interaction designers, usability experts, teachers or remained artists but with a digital edge to their work. At the end of the year, students will exhibit their final project at the Digital Art Week.
