Scholarship Overview

UC International Admissions offers international students two merit-based scholarship award opportunities namely UC Global Scholarship and International Outreach Scholarship. A student starting as a first-year can renew the scholarships up to 8 academic semesters, and a student transferring to UC can renew the scholarships up to 4 or 6 academic semesters. This scholarship is open only to students who are enrolled in the following undergraduate courses at the University of Cincinnati in USA -

  • B.S. in Computer Engineering
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering
  • Bachelor of Business Administration - Accounting
  • Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences

Shortlisting Process

The selection of scholars for the UC Global Scholarship involves a multi-stage process. The scholars will be selected after a thorough assessment of all the applicants. 

Terms and Conditions

The continuation of the scholarship depends on the good academic performance of the scholars in the examinations conducted by their respective universities.

Renewal cases of stipend holders who are not promoted to the next year will not be considered for further renewal.

 

Eligibility

  • Students whose entire high school was completed outside the U.S.
  • Students entering UC directly from a university outside of the U.S.
  • Students entering the US through Conditional Admission. 
  • Foreign nationals who have completed (or are completing) an Associate’s degree from an accredited university or community college in the U.S. or outside of the U.S.
  • Foreign national transfer students who have earned at least 24 semester hours of university-level course credit at a university outside of the U.S. 

A student must meet one of the following requirements:

  • SAT Critical Reading + Math: 1130.
  • ACT: 23 Composite.
  • TOEFL*: 79 Composite (minimum 15 each subsection).
  • IELTS*: 6.5 Overall (minimum 5.5 each subsection).
  • ELS*: Graduate from session 112.
  • Duolingo (DET)*.
  • *TOEFL, IELTS, or ELS do not show a student's math ability. If the TOEFL, IELTS, or ELS scores are submitted, the student must take the UC Math Placement Test (MPT).

Applications must be submitted online.

Application Documents

  • Students are required to write an essay in no more than 650 words.
  • Submit official transcripts showing the current year’s subjects and the previous 3 years’ subjects.
  • Submit UC writing supplement includes a personal statement on the topic mentioned below in approximately 250 words:
    • Obtaining a college degree requires persistence and the ability to stay focused on the end result. Share with us a long-term goal that you had, the steps/process you took to obtain that goal, and how you overcame any obstacles that you encountered. This goal could be academic, personal, or extracurricular in nature.
  • Up to two letters of recommendation (Optional).
