This scholarship is administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and covers full tuition fees, return air travel, establishment allowance, contribution to living expenses, Health Insurance, Introductory Academic Program fees and Pre-course English fees.

DAAD Scholarships – Germany


DAAD scholarships are aimed at undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and postdoctoral students. In addition to creating a cohort of DAAD Scholars in Germany, the institute also organised a Third Country Programme specifically designed to provide international scholarships for developing country students.

  • Only those students who wish to complete a full-time course of study with mandatory attendance from a German university can apply for this scholarship.
  • The applicant should have completed their undergraduate level of study in not more than the last six years.
  • At least 2 years of proven work experience is required.
  • If you wish to study in Germany for a short period of 6 months, it is mandatory for you to be present in your country of residence at the time of application.
  • If you wish to study in Germany for more than 6 months, your previous degree must be obtained from your home degree.

Since they are fully funded scholarships, the amount is contributed towards tuition, living expenses, health, and travel. The monthly stipend varies between 850 euros to 1200 euros depending upon the type of degree you wish to pursue. Free on-campus accommodations will be provided under this developing countries scholarship programme.
