Program Overview

This postgraduate programme is aimed at health care professionals from a wide range of  backgrounds, including medicine, nursing and allied healthcare disciplines, who are involved  in the provision of care to cancer patients. It offers an evidencebased approach to the  management of physical and psychosocial issues that arise in cancer survivorship. Cancer  survivorship is recognised as a distinct period within the cancer continuum that commences  at diagnosis and continues through until the end of life. This course is delivered by a  multidisciplinary academic team and examines the physical and psychosocial sequelae of  cancer and its treatment on cancer survivors and provides students with the knowledge and skills to apply evidencebased practice to cancer survivorship care. For the first time the  National Cancer Survivorship Programme under the 20172026 National Cancer Strategy  places cancer survivorship at the heart of the Irish cancer agenda, therefore this course suits  healthcare  professionals  who  wish  to  upskill  in  the  evaluation,  development  and  implementation of cancer survivorship care.
