But, <strong>how would you know if you\u2019ve paid Class 1 National Insurance or not?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s simple! Any employee earning more than \u00a3183 a week will automatically pay Class 1 National Insurance. However, this amount changes every new tax year so it\u2019s better to always verify and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/rates-and-allowances-national-insurance-contributions\/rates-and-allowances-national-insurance-contributions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">check the figures<\/a> you were earning at that point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from the above mentioned mandatory points, you can get the new JSA only if you meet the below criteria. However, the standard allowances you will receive varies on your age and marital status:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you\u2019re single and under 25, you receive \u00a3344<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you\u2019re single and above 25, you will receive \u00a3411.51<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you\u2019re a couple and you both are under 25, you will \u00a3490.60 together<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you\u2019re a couple and either one of you or both are above 25, you will receive \u00a3596.58 together.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, this standard amount can be topped up if you have children, have a disability, or are having problems paying rent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jobseeker\u2019s Allowance: <\/strong>If you\u2019re eligible to receive the new style JSA, you can get a &#8216;personal allowance&#8217; each week of up to: \u00a359.20 if you&#8217;re 18 to 24; \u00a374.70 if you&#8217;re 25 or over.
